A BASINGSTOKE band is celebrating after launching a brand-new website.

The Old Basing Royal British Legion Corps of Drums band is also inviting new members to join them, with anyone from the age of 10 and above welcome.

Paul Graham, the media coordinator for the band, said: “Our website is now up and running. It’s a place where fans can follow the band and see what we are up to. It will also have up-to-date photographs and videos.”

Mr Graham said there were also opportunities for people to enquire about recruitment and book the band for events.

Mr Graham said: “The band is always looking for new members from 10 years plus whether you can play a instrument or want to learn we offer free tuition and loan of instruments and uniform.”

Anyone that is interested in joining, is invited to come to practices between 10am and 12.15pm on Sundays at the Old Basing RBL Club, crown Lane, Old Basing.

Mr Graham added: “The great thing about the brand is that we raise awareness for the royal British Legion by participating in carnivals, parades and concerts through out the year.

“The time spent with the band is rewarding as we offer free tuition, Loan of Instruments and uniform. We have members of all abilities and ages.”

When the band isn’t practicing, members enjoy an active social side and enjoy a variety of different activities such as dining out, barbecues, sporting activities, days out and even occasionally going abroad.

The Corps of Drums was formed in 1985, originally made up of army cadets.
