AN AWARD-WINNING artist has thanked the public for their “brilliant” response after she opened a new gallery in Andover last month.
Alex McGarry, the Fine Art Trade Guild’s Up and Coming Artist of 2019, opened the Alex McGarry Studio and Gallery in Waterloo Court.
The new shop showcase Alex’s latest paintings depicting British and farmyard animals, as well as new products based on her work, including hand-stitched cushions.
A section of the gallery also boasts a collection of paintings by Alex’s dad Pip, who is recognised as one of the world’s leading wildlife artist and known for his paintings of big cats and African game.
From Tuesday to Saturday Alex will be working in the shop window, allowing the public to watch original painting being created from start to finish.
Alex said: “The response I have had from the people in Andover so far has been brilliant. I am so grateful for every person that has been into the shop and bought painting and for their kind comment. Thank you!”
