AN ANDOVER DJ has scooped an industry-wide award for the third year in a row.

Alan Marshall was last week named as the South Central region’s DJ of the Year at the Wedding Industry Awards.

It marks the third successive year he has claimed the accolade, having been voted for by local couples.

Alan collected his award last Tuesday at a ceremony at the Tythe Barn, in Launton, alongside Andover’s Penton Park who were named best venue.

“I am blown away,” said Alan. “To win this award once was amazing but a third time in a row was beyond my dreams. The fact that this comes from exceeding our couples’ expectations just makes it even sweeter!”

The regional title caps off a successful year for Alan, after he won the coveted UK Wedding DJ of the year back in January.

He will find out whether he will reclaim his UK-wide award at a lavish awards ceremony to be held in Cafe de Paris, in Leicester Square, London, on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

Alan has worked in the industry for three decades and prides himself on helping couples personalise their special day, incorporating bespoke touches from those memorable first dance choices to advice on father-daughter dance ideas, and delivering fun and games throughout the day.

“My style of being a wedding DJ is driven by emotion,” he added, “as like a great love story, the day has a beginning, middle and end, so the music also has to reflect this.”
