MEMBERS of Alder Root Golf Club in Winwick have raised money for their chosen charities, the Blood Bikes and Prostate Cancer UK.
This year, the lady captain and captain combined their charities.
It takes £1500 to keep a Blood Bike on the road for one year and the club presented a cheque for this amount at their seniors Christmas party to Blood Biker Kirk Phillips, who received it on behalf of the charity.
He was also presented with the Queens Award for Voluntary Service at the club.
The captains' charity was bolstered by their immediate past captain Paul Chruszcz, who completed the Coast To Coast bike ride and raised more than £1600.
He was sponsored by club members and a four-figure cheque will also be sent to Prostate Cancer UK.
