POLICE are “urgently” looking to speak to the driver of a zircon blue Jaguar after a man was hit by a car and died in Andover earlier this week.

Investigations are continuing into the fatal crash, which took place on the evening of Monday, December 23.

A 38-year-old man from Andover was struck by a car, the driver of which failed to stop, on Charlton Road at around 6.40pm.

Despite best efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene.

Police have since issued their third appeal to the public in the space of four days.

After asking for any potential witnesses get in contact, it was then revealed that officers were searching for the driver of a Jaguar XJ, who they believed to have been involved in the incident.

Now they are looking to speak to the driver of a zircon blue Jaguar in connection with the crash, after further investigation confirmed that the debris recovered from the scene could be from "four different models" of Jaguar.

Sergeant Richard Grant, of the Serious Collision Policing Unit, said: “I would like to urge the driver of the vehicle involved in this collision to contact us.

“This is a serious incident and we do urgently need to speak with you.”

Police have also advised residents to be on the lookout for anyone who drives the car in question and has returned home with damage to their vehicle since Monday.

Sergeant Grant continued: “If you have seen a damaged Jaguar, or know someone who drives one and has returned home with damage to their car since Monday, please call us on 101, quoting 44190460421.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“We also want to hear from anyone who has a dash cam in their vehicle and captured a zircon blue Jaguar in the Andover area either during the day prior to the collision or in the time after it happened.”
