A MAN has been “released further to investigations” after police carried out a drug bust at a Ludgershall home earlier this week.

Officers from Amesbury seized suspected class A drugs during a warrant at an address in Tidworth Road at around 10.45am on Monday, December 23.

Approximately 10 wraps of suspected class A drugs - believed to be cocaine - were seized during the raid.

A man in his 20s at the address was taken to Amesbury police station for further questioning.

However, officers have since revealed that “the man was released further to investigations.”

Officers nonetheless reflected on a “really positive” operation.

Speaking before the man was released, Inspector Liz Coles said: “This was a really positive warrant this morning – not only have we located one man for further questioning, we have also seized what we believe to be class A drugs and subsequently preventing them from reaching the hands of vulnerable drugs users within our community.

“I hope this warrant also shows the importance of reporting any concerns regarding suspected drug activity in your neighbourhood, so we can take action.

“We completely understand the negative impact illegal drugs can have on a community and we will always take reports seriously.”

Anyone wishing to report any concerns should contact the police on 101.
