A MAN who hit an police officer in the face in Tidworth has been fined £215 by magistrates.
Aaron Heathcote, 27, of Curzon Street, Calne, pleaded guilty to the assault at Salisbury Magistrates Court on Friday, January 3.
The offence related to an incident which took place on November 29, last year, when an officer attended a report of a disorder in Forest Drive, Tidworth.
Whilst at the scene, the officer was said to have momentarily looked away and was struck in the face by Heathcote.
The assault was witnessed by other officers at the scene. The victim did not suffer any injuries.
As well as the fine of £215, Heathcote was ordered to pay £85 in costs, £32 to victim support plus compensation of £50.
