A FUNDRAISER has been set up for the family of a "one in a million" man who died in a car crash near Andover last week.
Nicholas Lee Thomas, known as Nick, died after a Citroen ZX Aura was involved in a collision on Fyfield Lane, near the junction for Fyfield Road, in the early hours of Sunday, January 19.
He was 43 years old.
Now, friends have banded together in a bid to raise funds for his children.
David Blairs, a long-time friend of Nick’s who set up the Go Fund Me page, told the Advertiser: "He was one in a million. They don't make many like him.
“We’re raising money for his children, that’s all we’re trying to achieve.”
The fundraiser has already smashed its initial target of £1,000.
“We got to that within 12 hours,” added David, “and that’s only with 20 people donating.”
The total is now well on its way towards a revised goal of £3,000, with friends and loved ones continuing to contribute to the cause.
David continued: “He’s got three young children. My dreams and goals are to be able to get them £1,000 each.”
