Portway Infant School were extremely lucky to win a visit from para-sport gold medal winning high jumper Jonathan Broom-Edwards. The visit was a part of a prize Portway won in a competition with Muller yogurt after being entered by one of the children’s aunties, Vita Sevcenko.

Following an inspiring assembly lead by Jonathan the children learnt lots about the Paralympics and that not all disabilities are visible.

The children in year 2 then had a fun filled morning led by Paul, a sports coach. They also practised their jumping with the expert help from Paralympian Jonathan. There may well be a future Olympian amongst them!

The prize also included a £2000 voucher to spend at Davies Sport which the children have used to purchase lots of exciting new PE equipment for both their lesson time and lunchtimes.
