A LEADING holiday park has announced major investment in its Lake District sites.

Parkdean Resorts has announced a spend of more than £1.2m into four Lake District parks to install new lodges, upgrade existing caravan accommodation, and improve dining and arcade facilities.

The funding is part of an £80m investment into its business nationwide.

Parkdean Resorts operates four parks in the Lake District: Fallbarrow, Limefitt and White Cross Bay at Windermere, and Gatebeck, near Kendal.

As part of the £1.2m investment, there will be eight brand new luxury two and three-bedroom lodges added to White Cross Bay, eleven new caravans to replace old fleet across Fallbarrow, Limefitt and White Cross Bay, and refurbished dining facilities and arcade area at Fallbarrow.

Across the Lakes, Parkdean Resorts employs more than 150 staff in season, and the parks are currently hiring for a number of seasonal roles across sales, food and beverage, and housekeeping.

Steve Richards, chief executive of Parkdean Resorts, said: “We’ve made great progress in the last year and our success is down to the passion of our teams in helping to deliver great holiday experiences for our customers.

“We want to build on momentum in 2020, so we are on the lookout for vibrant people to join our teams across our Lake District parks.”

The investment in the parks across the Lake District is part of the company’s largest ever annual investment in its estate.

The aim of the funding is to deliver holiday parks that provide inter-generational family fun and freedom for its holiday homeowners and holiday guests.

In total, £5.8m will be invested in 2020 in a pilot ‘parks of the future’ initiative in four locations to create state-of-the-art amenities.

These include accommodation, park facilities and kids’ activity-based entertainment such as the Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

Parkdean is also investing more than £13m to provide free high-speed Wi-Fi in every caravan and lodge across all 67 of its parks in the UK.
