Following the news that one person has sadly been diagnosed with coronavirus, residents across Andover will be wondering what this means for them.

We've contacted the relevant agencies and authorities to find out the impact on you.

Should I self-isolate?

If you have come into contact with someone who has coronavirus and you are displaying symptoms, you are being advised to self-isolate.

Similarly, if you have returned from abroad and are displaying symptoms, you should stay at home.

The Government is also advising elderly or vulnerable people with underlying health conditions generally to self-isolate.

What should I do if I visited Andover Leisure Centre this weekend?

If you visited Andover Leisure Centre on Saturday or Sunday, you should call NHS 111 for advice.

If you have symptoms of coronavirus or your children do, they are advised to self-isolate and not to go to school tomorrow.

Are any schools closed?

As of Sunday evening at 6.30pm, there were no announcements of school closures in either Andover, Basingstoke or Winchester.

A pupil at Peter Symonds College has tested positive for coronavirus but the head teacher has made the decision to keep the school open.
