A MAJOR employer in Andover has confirmed that two of its staff have been diagnosed with Covid-19, however the premises remains open as usual.
Lloyds Banking Group says its Keens House premises, in Anton Mill Road, was temporarily closed over the weekend.
This was to “allow for the appropriate areas of the site to be cleaned” after two colleagues based there tested positive for the coronavirus.
Staff at the company have since told the Advertiser that they were instructed by the company to come in as normal, and now bosses have confirmed that “colleagues returned to the building as normal on Monday morning”.
A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson stressed that the company is continuing to monitor the situation.
The spokesperson said: “Our priority is the wellbeing of individuals, as well as colleagues and visitors entering our buildings.
“We’re closely monitoring the developing situation and continue to follow official guidelines.”
It comes after prime minister Boris Johnson yesterday advised people to work from home where possible and avoid contact with others in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.
