A DRIVER who was clocked at 108mph has pleaded guilty to speeding.

Darren Piper, of Southend-on-Sea, was found driving an Audi at almost 40mph over the speed limit on the A303, near Parkhouse Cross.

The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence via single justice procedure.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 21 at Aldershot magistrates court after the case was adjourned so that a disqualification from driving could be considered.


THE hearing of a 21-year-old Grateley man accused of having various drugs in his possession has been adjourned.

Karl Douglas, of Locke Close, had been due to appear at Basingstoke magistrates court to face charges of possessing diamorphine, cocaine and cannabis while in Andover on February 27.

However the hearing was adjourned due to the ongoing situation regarding covid-19, with a holding date of May 5 pencilled in.


A MAN has been proved innocent of driving on the A303 whilst under the influence of drugs.

Abdurrahman Hussein, of Helperby Road, London, was found driving a Lexus on the dual-carriageway near Popham on October 24, 2018.

The 21-year-old was believed to be in an unfit state to drive due to drugs, however he denied the charges at Basingstoke magistrates court in December 2019.

And last month he was proved to be not guilt of the offence at the same court. The charges were dismissed.


A DRIVER who admitted speeding at 88mph on the A303 is set to be sentenced next month after the hearing was adjourned due to coronavirus.

Kweku Eshin, of Beaumont Place, in Plymouth, was caught breaking the speedl imit on the dual-carriageway near Parkhouse Cross on August 5, last year.

He had previously pleaded guilty to the charges via single justice procedure and was due to be sentenced in March. However the case was adjourned “due to the situation regarding Covid-19” and he is now set to appear at Aldershot magistrates court on May 5.


A 63-YEAR-OLD man has pleaded guilty to speeding on the A303 near Andover.

Mario La Torre, of Richmond, Surrey, had been riving a Mercedes on the dual-carriageway near Parkhouse Cross on October 17, last year. He was clocked at 84mph.

He pleaded guilty to the offence via single justice procedure in March, but was not sentenced.

The case was instead referred to Aldershot magistrates court for a full court hearing on May 18.
