MORE than 140 people who tested positive for coronavirus have now died under the care of Hampshire hospitals.
According to figures by NHS England, the virus has now led to a loss of 148 lives across Hampshire - an increase of 18 since the previous 24-hour period.
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Southampton General Hospital, has now recorded 30 deaths.
The hospital's most recent deaths took place on April 3, when three people lost their lives under their care.
While Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Queen Alexandra Hospital Cosham, has now had 77 deaths - a rise of seven in a day.
A total of 41 deaths have been recorded at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which handles Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, Andover War Memorial Hospital, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Alton Community Hospital - up from 34 the previous day.
It comes as the latest figures on Monday showed 921 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Hampshire.
This includes 149 confirmed cases of the virus that have been recorded in Southampton.
Across the UK, 5,273 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus.
