POLICE have warned residents after a mountain bike was stolen from the back garden of a Test Valley property.

Officers says that a blue Carrera mountain bike was taken from the secure rear garden of a house in Broughton sometime overnight on Monday.

They have also provided advice for bike owners looking to ensure their property is secure.

A statement from police read: “Ensure that if you own a bicycle that it secured with an adequate substantial lock and that where it is stored is also secure.

“Please take photographs of your bicycle as well as of the serial number which is located under the bottom bracket to assist with proof of identification

“All items of value can be added to a website which is Immobilise.com which is a national Property register.”
