A FARM was burgled near Andover during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police say that the incident happened in Red Rice, sometime between the hours of 12:30am and 1:30am.

Officers did not say what, if anything, was taken but have taken the opportunity to raise awareness and share advice in a bid to help prevent further crimes.

A statement from Hampshire Constabulary read: “Please remember to ensure you close and lock your windows and doors when left unattended and that sheds and garages are fully secured.

“We suggest that all valuable items are registered on www.immobilise.com. Immobilise helps us identify owners of stolen property and get it back to you if it is recovered.

“Please also consider extra security measures that you could put in place. Simple battery powered shed alarms are affordable and effective.

“You may also want to re-think where you are storing your tools or any valuable items and how they are being stored.”

Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in their area is advised to call the police on 101. If a burglary is in progress, call 999.
