AN ANDOVER man will return to court after pleading not guilty to driving with the incorrect car insurance.

Brighton Masendu, of Suffolk Road, is accused of driving a Chevrolet Kalos in Winchester Road without the correct insurance policy in place on January 5.

The 38-year-old denied the charge and the case was referred to Aldershot magistrates court on May26 for a case management hearing.

A MAN has been made to pay more than £800 after failing to give information to the police after an incident in Andover.

Connor Mayhew, of Abercrombie Gardens, Southampton, faced charges of failing to give the police information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle in Andover on December 3, last year.

The 25-year-old was proved guilty via single justice procedure and fined £660, while magistrates also made him pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

He was also given six penalty points on his driving licence.

A WOMAN charged with a pair of driving offences will have her cases heard in court next month amid confusion over the details of the incidents.

Maxine Lane, of Tintagel Close, is charged with driving without the correct license in Sycamore Drive, Holbury, on October 17 last year and again in the same street eight days later. In the first incident she was said to be driving a Peugeot, in the second a Mazda.

However, the case was referred to full court for a hearing as the date of the second offence differs from that provided in a statement, as does the type of vehicle involved. Clarification is therefore needed from police.

A summons was issued for a hearing on June 22 at Aldershot magistrates court.

A DRIVER driver has been given three penalty points and a fine for speeding.

Shaun Beer, of Constable Court, was clocked at 80mph on the A303, near Longparish, on November 6, last year.

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty via single justice procedure and was given three penalty points on his licence.

He was also fined £99 and made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

THE cases of an Andover man and woman relating to an incident in Black Swan car park last year has been adjourned due to coronavirus.

Kayley Bell, of Boulter Road, is charged with wrongful use of a disabled person’s badge in the town on September 5, 2019.

Simon Bell, of the same address, faces a further charge of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on the same date in Black Swan car park.

Both cases were adjourned due to the situation regarding Covid-19, with a holding date of June 9 at Basingstoke magistrates court set for a hearing.
