FIREFIGHTERS from Andover were called to a large fire at an industrial unit near Salisbury early on Thursday morning.
Photos on social media show the extent of the blaze, which broke out at a ‘large commercial building’ in Chilmark, Wiltshire.
Smoke was seen billowing from the building, with residents in the surrounding area advised to keep windows and doors closed.
Crews from a number of fire stations attended, from as far afield as Shaftesbury, Warminster, Yeovil and more.
One crew from Andover was called to the scene to provide essential water, bringing with it a water carrier which can transport around 10,000 litres.
A post on social media, shared by Andover Fire Station, added that an additional water carrier was also requested, along with eight pumping appliances and an aerial ladder platform along, plus a supporting pump from Yeovil Fire Station.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "We received a call at 5.18am about a large fire at an industrial unit in Chilmark.
