‘KEEP it up Andover,’ is the message from police patrolling the town amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Officers took to social media today (Tuesday) to praise the town and its residents for the way they have conducted themselves in recent weeks.

A post on the Test Valley Cops Facebook page read: “Local officers are continuing their patrols around Andover, and it’s amazing how much more you see when cycling around those hard to reach places!

“It’s still a tough time for all of us, but we appreciate everyone still continuing to do their best whilst out in public.

“We’ve been so impressed by how our Andover residents have conducted themselves throughout this time, and it’s always so great to see our town pulling together.

“Keep it up Andover. Sending (social distanced) high fives!”

During the early days of lockdown, officers had highlighted a lack of social distancing at Anton Lakes as visitors continued to descend on the site.

However, the situation seemingly improved in the days that followed.

Over the next few weeks, police commended the town's residents for doing an “amazing job” at adhering to the rules, including over the Easter bank holiday.
