POLICE carried out a drugs bust at an address in Cholderton earlier this week.

Officers say they executed a search warrant at a property in Amesbury Road, gaining entry at around 8.45am on Tuesday.

Once inside they seized a quantity of cannabis and equipment believed to have previously been used in the cultivation of cannabis.

A man aged in his 30s was interviewed under caution at Amesbury police station, and a woman also aged in her 30s was due to be invited in for interview later on in the day.

PCSO Michael Farebrother organised the warrant.

He said: “I hope the public feel reassured by our actions this morning – this shows that we will always act on information we receive from our local community hence the importance of reporting your concerns if you suspect drug activity in your neighbourhood.

“Many people are of the opinion that cannabis is a harmless drug and not worth investigation, however, cannabis remains an illegal drug and it can cause harm within our communities.

“It is often associated with other crime types and can really impact on members of the public.”

Anyone who suspects drug activity is encouraged to call 101.
