A MAN suffered “serious injuries” after a motorcycle crash in Andover last weekend.

Police say they were called to the scene on the A343, at the approach to King Arthurs Way roundabout, just before 5.15pm on Saturday, May 13.

They were responding to reports of a “serious single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle”.

A 36-year-old man involved in the collision was taken to hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.

The fire and ambulance service were also in attendance.

A message shared by Andover Fire Station on Facebook read: “Andover fire station are currently at the scene of an RTC (road traffic collision) on the A343 junction of King Arthurs Way and Roman Way.

“They are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision, please avoid the area.

“The critical care team are on scene along with south central Ambulance and the police.”

It is believed that the road was closed for a period as emergency services dealt with the situation.

The Advertiser contacted Hampshire Constabulary for further information about the incident.

A spokesperson confirmed the above details and noted that enquiries are ongoing into the exact circumstances of the collision.
