Parents and children will be able to enjoy play parks once again as further lockdown restrictions have been lifted.

From today, play parks across Andover and the rest of England will be back open for youngsters and families to enjoy.

Early this morning, the team from Test Valley Borough Council were up and out removing padlocks and putting up new signage.

The leader of the council Cllr Phil North has told residents to "enjoy!".

The official advice on Gov.uk states that outdoor gyms and playgrounds are able to open in England from today, Saturday, July 4.

The prime minister Boris Johnson had previously announced that this weekend would see the reopening of playgrounds, along with other facilities.

In his address in late June, the Prime Minister said: "Most leisure facilities and tourist attractions will reopen if they can do so safely, including outdoor gyms and playgrounds, cinemas, museums, galleries, theme parks and arcades, as well as libraries, social clubs and community centres."
