A MAN from Birmingham has been fined after being caught at over 80 miles per hour on the A303 near Shipton Bellinger.

Mark O'Neill, of Tottenham Crescent, was spotted driving his BMW 116D Sport on the dual carriageway close to Parkhouse Cross on February 11, driving at 82 miles per hour.

He pleaded guilty to the charge via single justice procedure earlier this week, and was fined £160.

The 25-year-old was ordered to pay costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £32 and given three penalty points on his licence.

A MAN from Whitchurch has been found not guilty of assault.

Perry David Harkness, of Bellevue, was accused of assaulting a man in Basingstoke on December 28, 2019.

However, the 23-year-old's case was dismissed by District Judge James Pattinson at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, after he was found not guilty.

A TIDWORTH man has been fined after failing to respond to a Notice of Intended Prosecution from the police.

Hampshire Constabulary sent Alieu Danso, of Wavell Road, a section 172 letter on February 14, after his Chevrolet Cruze was allegedly caught driving at 81 miles per hour on the A303.

However, whilst the offence of speeding was withdrawn at court, police said that the 38-year-old did not respond to that letter, or a follow-up that was sent in March.

Danso, who denied the charge, was found guilty via single justice procedure at Aldershot Magistrates' Court earlier this week.

He was fined £660, ordered to pay £66 as a victim surcharge, costs of £85 and given six points on his licence.

Additionally, an Andover woman was fined for the same offence.

Emma Jane Graham, of Watermills Close, was alleged to have driven at 36 miles per hour on the A33 in Southampton. The offence of speeding was withdrawn, but magistrates fined her a total of £811 for not responding to a Notice of Intended Prosecution.

AN ANDOVER woman has been fined more than £800 after she was caught driving without insurance.

Jean Falconer, of St Anns Close, was spotted driving a Vauxhall Corsa on the A34 northbound near Kings Worthy on March 8.

She was found guilty via single justice procedure earlier this week, and was fined £660.

The 67-year-old was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and costs of £85, whilst magistrates also gave her seven penalty points.
