A deer had to be put down after sustaining injuries in Charlton yesterday.
Crews from Andover fire station were called at 8.30pm on Thursday to an animal rescue in Churchill Way West.
A spokesman for the fire station said: "When crews arrived they found a young deer had got itself stuck between two fence posts.
"Crews used hydraulic spreaders to free it, but once released, crews found severe injuries to the rear of the deer.
"Sadly, after taking it to the vets it had to be euthanised.
"Andover fire station would like to say a big thank you to the members of the public that found him and called us."
