Here is the latest update on new cases of Covid-19 in Test Valley.

The figures, which were released at 6pm yesterday evening (September 9) are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two).

The figures show one person in the Test Valley area seven people have recieved positive test results in the last 24 hours. 

A total of 18 people tested positive for the virus in Hampshire in the last 24 hours meaning the Test Valley area makes up for almost half of those cases.

The Government said that as of 9am on Tuesday, there had been a further 2,420 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus.

This takes the overall number of confirmed cases to 352,520.

The Government have confirmed 41,584 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday, an increase of 30 on the day before.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have now been 57,400 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
