A petrol station is asking for the public’s help to track down a “ballsy” motorist who drove off without paying - twice.

Chris Bricknell, alleges that the unidentified individual has “driven off twice without paying for fuel” from Paddocks Service Station, located on Andover Road.

He claims that the man has used a “fake number plate” on a silver Vauxhall car, and in a Facebook post, asked members of the public to help identify the individual concerned.

Chris told the Advertiser that he posted pictures of the CCTV on Facebook “to try and name and shame him so he won't do it again.”

He said: “We have full CCTV of him looking around before he fills up, but with him wearing a mask both times you don't really see his whole face.

He spoke highly of the garage’s owner, Roger Gerrish, who he said “has always kept his prices low to serve the community.”

“Roger is a really nice gentleman who will do anything for anyone,” Chris said. “He has worked hard his whole life to get to where he is now, and then there's this guy driving off without paying. You can see him dancing away in the video, thinking he is clever. The first time was ‘yeah, ok...’ but the second time was ballsy.”

This isn’t the first time that Paddocks Service Station has been affected by crime. Earlier this month, Roger Gerrish told the Advertiser that he had been burgled a number of times recently.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We received a report that on 6 October, between 4.45pm and 5pm, a man filled a silver Vauxhall with petrol and made off without paying.

“The incident happened at The Paddock Filling Station, on Andover Road in Ludgershall. Anyone with information can phone 101 with the reference 44200388870.”
