Andover’s Aldi branch will be closing next Friday for a week to allow refurbishment to take place.

From Friday November 27 at 6pm until 8am on December 3, the store will be closed for work to ‘refresh’ the store, which is located on Weyhill Road.

As part of the work, the store will be reconfigured, with new units added, which the retailer says create a store that “makes shopping with [Aldi] easier.”

Under the plans, new stand-up freezer units will be added to the store over the top of floor freezers, while a health and beauty section will be added on one of the central aisles.

A ‘food-to-go’ section will be placed near the front of the shop for those looking to grab a quick bite, while breads and cakes will be moved nearer to the checkout, which the store says is aimed to ensure the food “doesn’t get squashed” under shopping.

Other changes include the meat and fish section being expanded to include more fridges, while there will also be a mother and baby section.

While work takes place, the nearest Aldi stores are located on Salisbury Road in Amesbury, which is around a 20 minute drive down the A303, or on London Road in Salisbury, which is around a 25 minute drive.

Aldi were contacted for comment.
