NO PART of the Andover area is above the national coronavirus rate.

All 15 areas in the vicinity of Andover have a lower number of cases per 100,000 of the population than the national average across the UK.

The Covid hotspot in Andover is the Andover Charlton & Bourne Valley area, which includes Foxcotte, Charlton and Saxon Fields, plus villages such as Hurstbourne Tarrant, Vernham Dean and Upton.

The area has a rolling rate of 127.6 cases per 100,000 of the population, the highest in the area but still well below the national average.

9 people tested positive for the virus in the seven days to November 21, which is an increase of 125 per cent on the week before.

Over Wallop & Shipton Bellinger recorded the highest coronavirus rate in the area, with 137.9 cases per 100,000 of the population.

Ten people tested positive there in the same seven day period.

An interactive map on the government website shows just how many people have tested positive for the virus in each area of the county over the seven-day period up to Sunday, November 8.

Public Health England breaks down the numbers of coronavirus cases into neighbourhoods called 'Middle Super Output Areas' (MSOAs), which are smaller than council wards and based on population rather than geographical area.

The interactive map allows users to type in their postcode and see how many cases were reported in their area and if it has increased or decreased from the week before. The darker the colour on the image, the more positive test results have been recorded.

The map highlights which areas of the nation have three or more confirmed cases of the virus and colour co-coordinates the areas by how many cases they have.

Just days after it was confirmed that Hampshire would be placed in tier two measures at the end of lockdown, coronavirus cases remain below the national average in Test Valley.

108 people tested positive for the virus in the borough in the seven days to November 21, which is down 24.5 per cent on the previous week.

The rolling rate of 85.6 is well below the national average, and the third lowest of Hampshire's eleven districts.

In Hampshire as a whole, the rate of 113.8 is also below the national average.
