ANDOVER has been named as one of the worst places to live in England.

Andover was ranked the 22nd worst place in a new survey by the satirical website I Live Here, after a 'record-breaking' 125,681 people voted.

The online contributors have been far from kind about the area, with scathing reviews on the page saying that the town is the ‘most depressing place in the northern hemisphere’.

The latest post advises the visitors to 'avoid' Andover 'at all cost' as it hits out at the town’s residents and amenities whilst comparing the town to Chernobyl.

The reviewer promptly moved on to mocking residents calling the men "wannabe squaddies" and the women “teenage mums” with “a variety of kids like the Kellogg mini cereal boxes”.

Two other Hampshire towns placed on the list with Aldershot ranking 30th and Southampton the 40th worst place to live.
