THE stretch of road near Tadley temporarily closed by police this afternoon has reopened after a car flipped while overtaking a tractor.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area as police attended a traffic incident on the B3051 between Tadley and Ashford Hill.

There were road closures on the B3051 junction of both Brimpton Road and Ashford Hill Road.

At 4:54pm, Basingstoke Rural Police tweeted: "***Traffic Alert*** we are dealing with a RTI on the B3051 between #Tadley and #AshfordHill.

"Please avoid the area if you can. Road closures are in place on the B3051 junction of both Brimpton Road and Ashford Hill Road."

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson has since told the Gazette: "We were called at 4.21pm this afternoon (Friday 8 January) to a report of a single-vehicle collision on the B3051 road between Tadley and Kingsclere, close to Ashford Hill Road.

"A silver Vauxhall Corsa had lost control while overtaking a tractor and landed on its roof.

"The driver suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

"Road closures were in place while the vehicle was recovered but all roads are now open."
