THE driver of a car which flipped while overtaking a tractor near Tadley this afternoon has escaped with only minor injuries.

Road closures were in place this evening on the B3051 road in both directions between Ashford Hill Road and Hockford Lane after the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa lost control.

Police were called to the scene and advised motorists to avoid the area.

But by 5.38pm the road had reopened, with the vehicle safely placed on a recovery vehicle and the driver assessed as not requiring hospital treatment.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 4.21pm this afternoon (Friday 8 January) to a report of a single-vehicle collision on the B3051 road between Tadley and Kingsclere, close to Ashford Hill Road.

"A silver Vauxhall Corsa had lost control while overtaking a tractor and landed on its roof.

"The driver suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

"Road closures were in place while the vehicle was recovered but all roads are now open."
