A STOCKBRIDGE drink driver has been banned from the roads for 20 months.
Robert Mealings, 56, of Winchester Hill, Romsey, was driving a 62-reg VW Passat when caught by police on Leckford Lane on August 11.
Mealings admitted the charge of driving with excess alcohol when he attended Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
His alcohol reading was 180 milligrammes in 100 millilitres of blood when the legal level is 80, making him more than double the limit.
Magistrates disqualified him from driving for 20 months, fined him £230 with a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs. The ban will be cut by 20 weeks if Mealings passes an approved course by February 19 2022.
