Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are ranked fourth for most Covid vaccinations given in England, figures have revealed.
As many as 166,417 jabs were given in the region, according to the latest data collected through the National Immunisation Management Service (NIMS) until January 19 (Tuesday), 2021. A total of 146,285 people have received these vaccines. Among them, 20,132 people received both doses of the vaccine.
Only Cumbria and North East (271,536), Cheshire and Merseyside (201,220) and Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership (187,947) have received more jabs than Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight is also top for most jabs given in the South East region.
Since the drive began on December 8, as many as 3,981,445 jabs have been given and 3,557,847 people have received in England.
NHS said priority groups for vaccination in the initial phase were determined by government following advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) and included care home residents and their carers, people aged 80 years old and over, and frontline health and social care workers.
Of the vaccinations provided over this time, 2,005,459 were provided to people aged 80 years old or over, which is 50% of the total vaccinations given.
However, there are still many people aged 80 and above in England waiting to receive the first dose of Covid vaccine.
