A woman from Andover caused more than £1,000 worth of damage after breaking a window at Winchester hospital.

Elizabeth Virgo, of Junction Road, admitted to smashing the window at Royal Hampshire County Hospital on September 2.

The damage was valued at £1,104.72.

The 27-year-old was ordered to pay compensation to the hospital, to the same value as the damage caused.

Additionally, she was ordered to pay costs of £40.

A man from Kent has appeared in court charged with causing grievous bodily harm to another man.

John James Oakes, of Granville Road, Sheerness, is causing the GBH of the man in Andover on April 21, 2019.

He’s further charged with attempting to rob the complainant of £500 of cash.

Both charges have been sent to Winchester Crown Court, where he will appear on February 24.

He has been remanded into custody, and no pleas have been entered.

The case of an Andover man accused of urinating in a police cell has been delayed again.

As previously reported, Jason Derek Baigent, of New Street, has been charged with urinating on the floor, spitting blood and flooding a cell at Basingstoke Police Investigation Centre in June 2020 - during the Covid pandemic.

The 48-year-old had been under arrest after allegedly being found in possession of cannabis in Kings Worthy on June 19.

He was due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, but the case was delayed.

He is now set to attend court on March 11. No pleas have been entered.

A woman was caught driving in Andover whilst allegedly almost four times the drink-drive limit, a court has heard.

Sarah Moriniere, of Valley Rise in Upper Clatford, is accused of driving a Mazda in The Hexagon on June 29 whilst under the influence of alcohol.

She is charged with having 130 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, almost four times the limit.

The 47-year-old’s case was adjourned after being mentioned at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week.

She is now scheduled to appear on February 23, where a plea is set to be entered.
