The latest Covid-19 test results show that cases in Test Valley have plateaued this week, with a similar situation across many areas of Andover.

In the week leading up to January 24, Test Valley recorded 411 cases, a decrease of 75 from the week before, with a rolling rate of 325.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Test Valley is also broken into smaller geographic areas, known as MSOAs, or Middle Layer Super Output Areas, which are smaller, postcode-linked areas that are used for a range of government statistics.

Breaking down the cases over the week up to January 24 by area, many of the MSOAs recorded slight rises and falls in the number of cases in their area, though overall numbers remained high in some areas.

Andover London Road & East Anton had the highest number of cases, and was the only area to have more than 100 positive tests received in this reporting period, with 100 cases and a rolling rate of 589.4 per 100,000.

However, this is only an increase of eight cases compared to the week to January 23.

Tidworth & Ludgershall also had high case numbers, at 63, but this was a drop of 19 cases on the week before. Other areas of Andover also had significant case loads, including Andover Newbury Road and Andover Central, with 34 cases each.

Of areas with cases, Chilbolton, Clatford & Barton Stacey had the lowest number, with five. This is an increase of three from the week to January 23, and a rate of 95.0 per 100,000.

As of Friday, January 29, Test Valley had reported 4,392 positive cases of Covid-19. There have so far been 166 deaths with Covid-19 recorded as the cause of death.
