Harassment trial

AN ANDOVER man will stand trial, charged with harassment against a woman.

Daniel Christopher George Hewlett, of May Tree Road, appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on March 29, accused of unwanted calls and messages.

The 36-year-old denied the offence.

He also denied three counts of posting on Instagram in breach of a previous order, but indicated a guilty plea to messaging and calling the woman when prohibited.

He will stand trial at the same court on October 25.

Sexual offences

A MAN who committed a sexual offence in Andover has been issued a community order.

Christopher James Downes, from Barford St Martin, Salisbury, watched a person in a ‘private act’ for ‘sexual gratification’, without their consent.

He was also charged with masturbation in a public toilet facility.

On March 29, Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered that the 43-year-old must complete a 45-day rehabilitation programme and 15 rehabilitation activity days.

He will also be under a sexual harm prevention order for five years.

Land abuse

A STOCKBRIDGE man has been fined £450 for failing to remove materials stored on land at Leckford Lane.

Conrad Lane, of Leckford Lane, was in breach of a borough council enforcement notice between March 2015 and November 2019, for failing to stop using the land north of the junction between the A30 and A3057.

He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 29 where he changed his plea to guilty and was issued a fine.

Drug driving

A LUDGERSHALL man has been fined after he drove his car along an Andover road while above the drug limit.

David Osilaja, of Abbat Close, had a controlled drug in his system when he drove his VW Golf on Weyhill Road on September 28.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court fined the 25-year-old £230 when he appeared on March 30.

He has also been disqualified from driving for one year.

Driving fine

AN ANDOVER man has been fined after he drove his car along while above the drug limit.

Jordan Ryan Devine, of Horse Guards Crescent, had a controlled drug in his system when he drove his BMW 320 on the A343 on September 22.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court fined the 24-year-old £370 when he appeared on March 30.

He has also been disqualified from driving for one year.
