POLICE continue to investigate a racist attack against a Southampton university lecturer.
Dr Peng Wang was racially abused and physically attacked in the Vosper Road, Woolston.
The lecturer at the University of Southampton had jogging when a group of four men drove past him in a car.
They then punched and kicked him to the ground, based on a police report.
Dr Wang, 37, was later rushed to hospital with injuries to his face and elbow following the attack on February 23.
A 23-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault.
A 35-year-old man, also from the city, was later arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Both men have since been released, however, police say that their enquiries are ongoing.
