Following the biggest heatwave of the year, showers and storms returned this weekend to Andover, putting a dampener on the those hoping for another sunny weekend.

According to the Met Office, frequent showers will continue throughout most of this week, interspersed with some sunny spells.

There will also likely be thunderstorms and strong winds for this time of year.

The rain will stubbornly continue through the rest of the month and into August.

The weather is expected to improve in August, though the early part of the month will still likely see more showers and thunderstorms.

Mid-August is likely to see a return to the hot summer weather we saw for much of last week, with conditions much drier and sunnier.

As with all forecasts though, confidence lowers the further away the prediction is.
