Former council candidate accused of sexually abusing a child has case delayed
A FORMER council candidate charged with 21 offences of child sexual abuse has had his trial delayed.
Adam Buckenham, of York Road in Ventnor, Isle of Wight, stood in the Andover Downlands ward at the Test Valley Borough Council elections in 2019.
The 46-year-old had been due to stand trial this week at Winchester Crown Court, but the jury was discharged after fears the case would not finish in time.
He will now stand trial at the same court on March 21, 2022.
Buckenham denied 21 charges including rape and sexual activity with a child.
