What has Go!Southampton got planned for the future of the city?

  • A cleaner, better-maintained city, with more deep cleans, graffiti removal and hot washing. Weekend and evening cleaning services will be introduced and GO! Southampton will work with the council to identify new commercial opportunities for the city’s heritage assets.
  • An inclusive city centre to include removing accessibility barriers, influence future developments on inclusivity, help Southampton become a Child Friendly City and provide inclusivity training and encourage greater diversity.
  • Transport and access, helping shape future plans, being the voice of business and championing access improvements to support the post-pandemic revival.
  • Business support will see the extension of the dry mixed recycling scheme in partnership with the city council, helping businesses save money and increase recycling. Cost reduction schemes will be continued, offering businesses savings on their utility bills and merchant fees.
  • Keeping businesses safe from harm will see further development of the Southampton Business Crime Partnership to be a central hub for intelligence, a continuing daily security presence and work with police and businesses to reduce violence against workers.
  • Preventing and reducing offending will be tackled by working with the police and partner agencies to target prolific offenders and organised crime, collaborating to extend support on the streets for those with drug and alcohol addictions.
  • Creating safer communities will see investment in CCTV and a role in emergency planning. including public health responses
  • Supporting the night-time economy includes the commissioning of a night-time economy strategy.
