ANDOVER Rocks celebrated National Poetry Day last week with an exquisite line up of local poets.

The talented writers and performers took part in an event at The White Hart on Thursday, October 7.

They included Dan Hook,s aka The Alien Poet, Andy Pomphrey and Joe Chauncey, Cat Randle, Maija Leipins, Katt Grover, Molly, Micheal Johnson and Callum Lee.

The audience were treated to an eclectic mix of poetry that was exceptionally well received.

Marie Ponting, organiser of Andover Rocks, said: “We are so proud of what Dan has achieved within the poetry and spoken word strand of rocks.

“It was a truly special evening that brought the poetry community together, I feel there are exciting times ahead.”

She added: “Thanks to all the performers and the audience for supporting this celebration of poetry and the White Hart in Andover’s Bridge street for hosting this event.”

Andover Rocks is an not-for-profit organisation which seeks to improve people’s mental health through music intervention.

It has evolved to include other branches including poetry and spoken word
