AN ANDOVER student has led his peers in marking Remembrance Day for the second year, by playing The Last Post.

John Hanson School, on Floral Way, shuts the school down for the minute’s silence on Remembrance Day each year, with one pupil picked to lead staff students into the moment of remembrance with a musical tribute.

For the second year in a row Robert Sawyer, who is in Year 10, carried this out yesterday morning (Thursday, November 11).

Cadets were also asked to attend school to come in their uniforms.

A spokesperson for the school said: “A huge thank you and well done to our Year 10 student Robert Sawyer. So incredibly brave to stand in front of the whole school to lead us in to the one minute silence.

“Our students were so very respectful.
