The main road through Overton is closed this morning as firefighters deal with a blaze in the village centre.

The B3400 London Road is closed between the traffic lights and Station Road as emergency services deal with the incident.

Several fire crews and ambulances rushed through the village this morning to deal with the fire, on Station Road.

Reports on social media suggest that everyone in the affected building has thankfully made it out safe.

Early reports from Hampshire County Council's traffic service ROMANSE and Stagecoach both reported a vehicle fire - however we understand that the fire was in the roof of a property.

As a result of the road closure, bus services through the town have been redirected via the A303 and A34.

Hampshire Constabulary, the fire service and South Central Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.

More info as we get it.
