ALL lines have now reopened across the South Western Railway network following icy rail conditions this morning.

South Western Rail have confirmed that all lines have now reopened but have warned that some trains may still be cancelled, delayed or changed.

Disruption is likely to last until 4pm today.

They tweeted: "Following icy rail conditions earlier all lines have now reopened. Trains running across the whole South Western Railway network may still be cancelled, delayed or changed. We estimate that disruption to our services will end at 16:00."

The icy rail conditions affected all journeys across the whole South Western Railway network this morning and some lines were blocked.

They tweeted: “We have been advised of icy rail conditions across the network. All lines are currently blocked between Winchester and Brookwood Trains may be delayed, cancelled or revised.”

“You can use your ticket to travel on: GWR services between Basingstoke and Reading and between Reading and Paddington. CrossCountry services between Bournemouth and Basingstoke.”

Customers were still able to use their ticket on GWR services between Basingstoke and Reading as well as on CrossCountry networks between Bournemouth and Basingstoke.

The icy conditions come after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for ice affecting areas of Hampshire.

The Met Office issued the warning from 3pm on Sunday (November 28) until 10am Monday (November 29).

The Met Office warned that surfaces may become icy in places on Monday morning (November 29), making it tricky to travel.

The Met Office tweeted: "An area of sleet and #snow continues to move southwards into central southern England this evening Many areas will see a slight covering of #uksnow with some places likely to see 1-2 cm Take care if you are travelling this evening Stay #WeatherAware."
