POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an aggravated burglary in Andover.

Officers were called at 5.20pm yesterday, Tuesday, December 7, to reports of an ongoing burglary at an address on Barnfield Rise.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "A group of five people had forced entry to the property armed with what is believed to be knives, and conducted an untidy search.

"The residents were present during the incident but were not injured.

"It is unknown at this time exactly what was stolen."

They continued: "The suspects are believed to have made off in a silver Mercedes.

"We will be in the area conducting enquiries, but are asking the public for any information that may assist us with our investigation.

"Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you saw something suspicious at the time, or have doorbell or dash cam footage of a Silver Mercedes in the area?"

Anyone with information is asked to phone 101 with reference 44210490965. Alternatively, you can phone Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111.

When asked by the Advertiser whether the incident is being considered link to a series of burglaries last month, they added: "As with any investigation possible links to other crimes will be considered. This work is ongoing, but they have not been linked at this time."
