STAFF at an Andover primary school put on their own version of Cinderella for all their children to enjoy.

After a tough year for both children and teachers, the team at Vigo Primary School wanted them to have some festive fun together.

Many of the staff got dressed to impress the Year 6 audience who were invited to watched the pantomime live, whilst the other year groups got to watched it virtually.

Year 5 teacher Mrs Wepener wrote the personalised Vigo script and nearly 40 members of staff gave up an evening to perform to the children.

The children’s favourite characters were the ugly sisters played by Year 5 teacher Mr Cooper and site manager Mr Baker.

Laura Reid, deputy headteacher, said: “This was our first ever Vigo School pantomime and we wanted to put on a show for our whole school to enjoy and that we did indeed!

“It was such a great success, the children went away saying it was great to see their teachers on stage and being rather silly. In a year that hasn’t been the ‘norm’ we wanted to have some extra smiles and giggles, not just from the children but the teachers too.

“I would like to say a bit thank you to Mrs Wepener and all the staff for putting on such a great show - we now have to get thinking of what to do next year!”
