A man accused of assaulting a woman on Christmas Eve last year has had his case dismissed after prosecutors did not offer any evidence.

Lukasz Palasz, of Jardine Square, was accused of assaulting the woman on December 24, 2020. He had denied the charge but at a hearing on December 13, 2021, 354 days after the alleged incident, the case was dismissed after prosecutors offered no evidence.

A second charge of failing to surrender to Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on October 25, also denied by 32-year-old Palasz, was dismissed in the same circumstances, court documents reveal.

A man has been jailed after assaulting a police officer and damaging a police van.

Terry John Reeve, of Laburnum Road, Waterlooville, had damaged two glass windows and a garden fence belonging to Sovereign housing association in Andover on October 14, 2020, when police were called.

He then damaged the police vehicle to a value of over £5,000 and assaulted police officer Matthew Dipper.

He further refused to provide a specimen of breath for analysis, having been suspected of driving a vehicle whilst under the influence of either alcohol or drugs, court documents show.

Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court, the 29-year-old was jailed for a total of 26 weeks, and banned from driving for three years and 91 days.

An Andover man has been banned from getting behind the wheel for two years after he was caught drug driving.

Lewis Harry Wootton, of Winterdyne Mews, was caught driving a Peugeot 206 on his street on January 9 when under the influence of benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of cocaine.

The 33-year-old, who had previously denied the charge before changing his plea to guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on December 15, was fined £140 and banned from driving for two years.

An Andover woman has been fined after speeding.

Hannah Morris, of Gainsborough Court, admitting exceeding the speed limit in a Honda Civic on the A3057 in Kings Somborne on February 12. The speed the 36-year-old was travelling at was not revealed in court documents, but the charge stated she was exceeding the limit of 30 miles per hour. Morris was fined £66 and given three points on her licence in a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on December 17.

She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34.

A man has had his driving licence taken away from him after being found drug driving in Andover.

Delroy Jason Forbes was caught behind the wheel of a vehicle on Weyhill Road on March 12 when under the influence of cocaine.

The 54-year-old, of Coltsfoot Close in Amesbury, was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £180.

He must also pay costs of £85 and a £34 victim surcharge.
