A LOCAL shop in Ludgershall has been robbed by a gang of four, and a large quantify of cigarettes was stolen.

Ludgershall Local shop on Andover Road was robbed at around 11.30pm on December 27.

According to police, there were four offenders – three who entered the shop and one who remained outside in the vehicle.

The offenders escaped in a green Subaru Forester vehicle which was seen driving off in the direction of Andover.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “Shortly after 11.30pm on 27/12 officers were called to a burglary in progress at the Ludgershall Local shop in Andover Road, Ludgershall.

“All local officers on duty responded, including specialist officers from the armed response team, but the offenders, who had stolen a large quantity of cigarettes, had already left.

“A green Subaru Forrester vehicle was seen driving off in the direction of Andover.

“We have carried out enquiries, including an immediate search of the local area, as well as viewing CCTV, CSI attendance at the scene, and using ANPR to try to trace the vehicle. We have also liaised with Hampshire Police.

“However, at this stage no arrests have been made.
