THE Andover Choral Society is welcoming in the New Year as they invite new singers to join their ‘enthusiastic choir’.

The choir currently has vacancies for singers who are enthusiastic, confident, and committed to joining them.

This year Andover Choral Society will be taking part in a very special venture to sing St Paul by Felix Mendelssohn.

A spokesperson from Andover Choral Society, said: “This rarely-performed masterpiece charting the life and ministry of the Biblical character is presented in a new reduced orchestration by ACS's Musical Director Peter Ford. The outstanding Westminster Chamber Orchestra and four top-class soloists will bring you a spectacular performance not to be missed.”

The choir normally rehearse on Wednesday evening from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at at Rookwood School, Weyhill Road, Andover.

A spokesperson added: “safety and social distancing follow Covid rules and keep members safe to sing their hearts out. This year's first concert will be held in May at St. Mary's Church, Andover. Rehearsals have only just started, so you won't be joining too late to catch up. Still a bit unsure? Then come along for a trial run. You 'll be more than welcome.”
