POLICE have issued advice to residents after three alleged burglary incidents took place in just one day last week in villages near Andover.

On Friday, January 14, officers received three reports of burglaries at addresses in Anna Valley, Upper Clatford and Goodworth Clatford.

At 5.58pm they received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle in Manor Rise, Anna Valley. Sometime between 10pm on Thursday, 13 January and 8am on Friday, 14 January, a black Audi was broken into and a small amount of cash taken.

At 10.10am they received a report of a theft from an outbuilding in Foundry Road, Upper Clatford. Sometime between 11pm on Thursday 13 January and 1am on Friday, 14 January a shed was broken into. Items including two pushbikes, tool kit and lights for the bikes were taken.

Finally, at 12.04pm, they received a report of a theft from a garden shed in Longstock Road, Goodworth Clatford. The shed was broken into sometime between 11pm on Thursday, 13 January and 6am Friday, 14 January. A blue ‘Cube’ bicycle was stolen along with a power drill, angle grinder, moped helmet and gloves.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson told the Advertiser: "The three incidents have been linked.

"Officers have been carrying out enquiries, including house to house and CCTV enquiries.

"We would like to hear from anyone with information on these incidents. Have you been offered a bicycle or tools for sale recently? Did you notice anything suspicious? Do you have any private CCTV?

"Anyone with any information should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 44220018076."

The spokesperson added: "We would like to remind people of some measures they can take to protect their property".

They issued the following tips:

• Use of good padlock on the door to your shed or garage with no exposed screws

• Keep it locked at all times

• Consider fitting a battery-operated shed alarm with a loud siren

• Secure your bike to the ground or lockable stand within a locked shed or garage. Visit https://www.soldsecure.com/ to search for ground anchors or other security products

• Think about what a thief might see from any window of your shed or garage. Keep your valuable items covered from view
